Kawartha
Speedway's 3/8 mile high-speed paved oval sits within the Kawartha
Downs harness racing track and also contains the Kawarth SLOTS.
Kawartha's oval track plays host to a variety of races; late models,
thunder cars, challengers, as well as Cascar, OSSCAR, Pro Challenge,
Hurricane Midgets, Ontario Legends, Supermodified's as well as four
cylinders. Kawartha Speedway can accommodate over 8,000 spectators
for racing events at the oval. Part of the seating is enclosed.
This speedway is extremely fast due in part to two facts; 50 foot
wide straights, and four high banked corners each with 25 degrees
of banking.
It is one of the most versatile short tracks in existence capable
of handling the entire spectrum of motorsports divisions from Super
Late Model Stock Cars and CASCAR to Can-Am Midget sprint cars and
super modifieds. This short track offers the thrill of motorsports
in a very intimate setting. It is truly an outstanding entertainment
experience. Stock car racing runs from May to Septmber. Pit Gates
open at 3pm and racing starts at 7pm every FRIDAY night. Spectator
Gates open at 5pm. Pit passes are available. |
